Fully Autonomous Vehicles for People with Visual Impairment: Policy, Accessibility, and Future Directions

Fink, Holz, and Giudice have published a new peer-reviewed journal article related to autonomous vehicle accessibility. The work, entitled “Fully Autonomous Vehicles for People with Visual Impairment: Policy, Accessibility, and Future Directions” reviews user-research with blind and visually impaired people contrasted with current policy efforts. They find that people with visual impairment are not being adequately considered in the autonomous vehicle policy space and issue several recommendations to promote the accessible design of fully autonomous vehicles. The new piece was published in ACM’s Transactions on Accessible Computing.
