For those of you who have been driven stir crazy in the gap between summer\u2019s warmth and the powder that brings in winter activity, consider the Nordic Heritage Center in Presque Isle for this season\u2019s sporting debut!<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Upon arrival, the possibilities are endless so come with a plan to enjoy your favorite outdoor activity. Be sure to sign the guestbook so that the splendid volunteers know just how man<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">y people are taking advantage of their facility! When the snow is off the ground enjoy,<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Fat tire\/ mountain biking\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Disc golf<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Trail running<\/span><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-25887 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/umaine.edu\/undiscoveredmaine\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/527\/2021\/11\/download-2-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"281\" height=\"180\" srcset=\"https:\/\/umaine.edu\/undiscoveredmaine\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/527\/2021\/11\/download-2-1.jpg 281w, https:\/\/umaine.edu\/undiscoveredmaine\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/527\/2021\/11\/download-2-1-105x67.jpg 105w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 320px) 85vw, (max-width: 768px) 67vw, (max-width: 1024px) 62vw,281px\" \/><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Walking trails along the ridge (bring your furry friend along!)<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Have a picnic in the field or on the lodge porch<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">During the winter all the trails are groomed for cross country skiing with lights on two of the ri<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">dge trails that stay on un<\/span>til 9 pm for night skiing!<\/p>\n<p>All throughout the year, the first floor of the lodge is open until about 9 each night. There is a bathroom, lockers, showers, and some space to warm up in between ski runs. However, the most exciting feature is a large sauna, keeping the Nordic tradition alive! In Maine, we are used to sprawling open space for the public to enjoy, but where else can you find facilities and hospitality like this?<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">No matter your skill level or age, the Nordic Heritage Center is there to get you moving!
