Today White&#8217;s grandson runs the largest of the town&#8217;s several boatbuilding yards, specializing in world-class wooden boat design and construction. Brooklin has stunning views of the Benjamin River and the Eggemoggin Reach.<\/p>\n<p>Brooklin hosts several well-known events each year, including the Eggemoggin Reach Regatta and a magnificent 4th of July parade. (https:\/\/downeastacadia.com\/story\/brooklin)<\/p>\n<p>Here are some intriguing activities:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Boating: &#8220;<strong>Brooklin<\/strong>\u2018s town landing is on Naskeag Point at the end of Naskeag Point Rd. Turn left at the General store when traveling south on Rte 175. &#8221; https:\/\/www.bluehillpeninsula.org\/on-the-water\/\u00a0 Take out a kayak or canoe to see the phenomenal islands; see birds and maybe seals and other cool things!<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thewoodenboatschool.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Wooden boat school:<\/a> &#8220;Our 39th year as an education center for all those interested in gaining access to experience in boatbuilding, wooden boat maintenance and repair, boat design, woodworking, metalworking, sailing, kayaking, and much, much more. WoodenBoat School remains committed to preserving the spirit of tradition in wood and craftsmanship that permeates our 64-acre saltwater campus.&#8221;<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.alltrails.com\/trail\/us\/maine\/harriman-point-trail\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Harriman Point Preserve Hike:<\/a> &#8220;With roughly two miles of shoreline, Harriman Point Preserve features the longest continuous stretch of the coast open to the public on the Blue Hill Peninsula.
