Each of the trails has unique characteristics; the Shore Trail takes you right up along the rocky shore of Morgan Bay, while the Woods Trail takes you through old-growth forests and an optional shore route, that is variable with the tide. The hike begins with a 1\/2-mile trail, that turns into two separate loops to choose from. Both of these loops are about 1 mile in length, giving you a total of 2 miles of hiking distance by the time you are finished (3 if you take both loops).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/bangordailynews.com\/2011\/02\/02\/outdoors\/favorite-places-in-maine-newbury-neck\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Newbury Neck Beach<\/strong><\/a> <em>1017-1049 Newbury Neck Rd, Surry, ME 04684<\/em>\n<ul>\n<li>Located on the thinnest portion of the peninsula, Newbury Neck Beach is a small beach that sits right off of the road. 2-hour parking is available on the shoulder of the road, and the beach gives you beautiful views of the nearby Mount Desert Island.
