The town of Waterford was incorporated in 1797 and quickly expanded into a prosperous community, known for its orchards, woodworking products, and beautiful hills and lakes. In later years a number of camps and lakeside inns became popular vacation spots. The beautiful scenery, camps, inns, and the town’s historic district have all contributed to Waterford’s continuing success and growth over the years. (Source)
