Caribou is home to many different activities to take part in. Because of its location, it offers access to both outdoor and indoor activities, historical and educational events, and more. With the sheer number of things to do, we broke them down by category to make them easier to filter and navigate.

Biking

    • Held every autumn, this fair features artwork from local artisans and supports the local economy.

    • Most Northeastern Marathon in the United States; a Boston Qualifying Marathon!
  • City-Wide Yard Sale Caribou, ME 04736
    • Annual city-wide yard sale and arts and crafts fair in May. People wishing to participate in the yard sale can fill out a form and will be put on a map with every yard sale. For those wishing to buy from the yard sales, just find the map online and start shopping!
  • Midsommar Fest Caribou, New Sweden, Stockholm, and Woodland, ME 04736
    • “Swedish culture comes alive in New Sweden’s annual Midsommar Festival in Northern Maine. This traditional Swedish festival holds true to its roots with a colorful three-day event marked by gathering flowers and lighting bonfires to mark the summer solstice.”
  • Winter Carnival and Snowmobile Festival Caribou, ME 04736
    • This event takes place in February and includes a variety of fun activities including skiing, shows, dinners, dances, snowmobile drag racing, parades, bonfires, family events, fireworks, and more.

    • This is a fun place to visit to play mini-golf, and pick strawberries and pumpkins. Try some of their home-grown produce, jams, and jellies!

    • Grows and produces healthy, wholesome fruits and vegetables. They also have a hatchery with 53,000 Maine brook trout.

    • This park has a 1.5-mile walking and bicycle path with a playground and a rentable pavilion with kitchen facilities.

    • If you’re interested in learning more about Aroostook County’s fauna, be sure to visit this museum. Because of their long history (founded in 1939), they have been able to expand their collection greatly.

Snowmobiling

Waterfront: Beaches, Swimming, Boating, Fishing

    • Location with plenty of shoreline opportunities, trout fishing, and canoeing.
  • Caribou Mill Pond Dam 3 Water St, Caribou, ME 04736
    • Built by the Army Corps of Engineers, the dam holds back Collins Pond.
  • Mile Brook Caribou, ME 04736
    • Great fishing spot just outside of town.
