Ethan Geheb
Hello! My name is Ethan, and I just finished my first year as a graduate student in the STEM Ph.D. program. I recently completed a Master’s in Teaching, and have a background in engineering. As a researcher, I am interested in exploring student and teacher perceptions about the engineering profession and what it means to “do engineering”. I also have extensive experience as a TA for introductory physics and calculus courses, and have spent time in local high schools as a science teacher. One of my core beliefs about learning is that problem solving is not just about getting “the right answer, the right way”. In my experience, there tends to be multiple ways to solve a problem, and I want students to use what they know in order to justify their methods and results. Overall, I love being in the classroom, interacting with students and sharing my love for learning. Fun fact about me: I live in a tiny house (12’x’24’) in Orono with my wife and our cute dog Mia! I look forward to getting to know you this summer!
