General Description
Student is responsible to operate at the following locations: All Campus Rec Facilities. Assistants for Operations will clean and maintain all Campus Rec indoor and outdoor facilities, groom trails, and repair broken equipment. They are respondsible for facilitating a fun, safe, and welcoming environment for participants and staff members at all times. The employee uses moderate independent judgment and initiative under minimal supervision.

Duties (may include but not limited to)
Clean the indoor facilities (Student Recreation Center and Maine Bound Adventure Center)
Perform maintenance duties as assigned at Campus Recreation’s outdoor facilities, which include: Lengyel Field, Challenge Course, Maine Bound Recreation Area, University Park Field, Riverside Recreation Area, and the University’s trail system
Groom the ski trails as needed
Repair broken equipment as needed
Respond to injuries and assist in immediate first aid and proper emergency procedures
Provide a welcoming, inclusive environment for staff and participants
Perform student evaluations and recommendations for merit increases
Attend staff meetings and trainings
Perform other duties as assigned

Enthusiasm, desire to learn, and desire to work as part of a team
Ability to operate independently within departmental standards of conduct and professional expectations
With proper training, awareness of risk management and safety concerns
Awareness of and appreciation for individual uniqueness and diversity
Pass State-mandated Background Check
Ability to obtain certifications in CPR, First Aid, Blood Borne Pathogens, and the use of an Automated External Defibrillator
Commitment to student development and leadership
Must sign a confidentiality agreement
