For Supervisors

Based off of a program designed at Iowa State University in 2009, UMaine GROW was formed to reach student employees who, with the help of structured communication, can gain pivotal skills from their work experiences. 

Supervisors in the pilot program are responsible for:

  • Selecting up to 10 student employees they feel would be willing to participate in the program
  • Hosting conversations with chosen student employees twice per semester; once in beginning, once in end
  • Reporting data to the Office of Student Employment after conversations are complete
  • Contacting us with any issues, recommendations, or questions about program
