General Description
Student is responsible for providing complex academic tutoring services to traditional and non-traditional students one-on-one or in a small group setting. Student works under direct supervision and exercises a minimal level of expertise, independent judgment and initiative.

Duties (may include but not limited to)
Assists students in developing study skills
Works one-on-one with students or in small groups
Maintains accurate records
Schedules appointments when necessary
Informs tutor coordinator of problem areas
Mentors new tutors
Advises students of study aids available on campus
Assists students with various coursework
Maintains communication between faculty and tutors
Plans, organizes and implements meetings
Maintains and updates materials
Supervises other student tutors
Conducts language lessons
Answers questions regarding Target Language and Culture
Attends training sessions as necessary
Communicates with course instructors

Additional Requirements (may include but not limited to)
Must attend all required training sessions
Must exhibit knowledge in specific academic areas
Must demonstrate a personable and friendly attitude
Must exhibit strong leadership abilities
May be required to complete certification
May need to fill a grade or GPA requirement
Demonstrates knowledge of department-specific computer applications
Has the ability to work in varying environments
May be required to submit official transcripts
Must sign a confidentiality agreement
