General Description
Student is responsible for performing highly complex research-related tasks at a graduate level in accordance with standard procedure. Student works under little to no supervision while frequently exercising a high level of independent judgment, initiative and expertise.

Duties (may include but not limited to)
Performs administrative tasks (photocopying, mailing, etc.)
Prepares samples
Performs routine testing
Analyzes materials and/or data
Cleans, stores and sorts materials and equipment
Cleans and maintains research facilities
Operates basic research equipment
Maintains records and files
Assists graduate students and staff with research testing
Assists in developing techniques and procedures for taking samples
Maintains stock, supplies and equipment
Prepares summaries including basic statistics
May coordinate the activities of other student employees
Compiles reports on research and analysis findings
Performs detailed investigations using complex instruments
Travel to conferences may be required
Conducts research from start to finish
Composes technical reports
Prepares research presentations

Additional Requirements (may include but not limited to)
Must be dependable
Exhibits subject expertise at a graduate level
Exhibits excellent communication skills
Demonstrates an understanding of fundamental technical processes
Must sign a confidentiality agreement
