General Description
Student is responsible for providing complex academic tutoring services to an individual or small group. Student works under limited supervision and exercises a moderate to high level of independent judgment and initiative.
Duties (may include but not limited to)
Assists students with homework, problem solving, report writing and test preparation
Assists students in developing study skills
Works one-on-one with students or in small groups
Maintains accurate records
Communicates with course instructors regarding course material and resources
Schedules appointments when necessary
Informs tutor coordinator of problem areas
Mentors new tutors
Advises students of academic study aids available on campus
Provides tutor coordinator with primary sources of course information
Additional Requirements (may include but not limited to)
Must attend all required training sessions
Must exhibit knowledge in specific academic areas
Must demonstrate a personable and friendly attitude
May be required to complete certification
May need to fill a grade or GPA requirement
Must sign a confidentiality agreement
