Applications for 2021-2022 Selective Scholarships are now closed. Applications for 2022-2023 Selective Scholarships will be available on ScholarshipUniverse at a later date.


Denotes that filing a FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) is required for determining eligibility for a particular scholarship.


C. Procaccini Scholarship Fund
Students with academic merit (cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or better in high school or post-secondary education) whose lives have been impacted by Italian heritage and/or culture as described in an essay must be submitted by students wishing to receive this scholarship.

 

Carl Dachs Family Scholarship Fund
Scholarship aid for undergraduate students with high financial need who are graduates of high schools in the State of Maine. A preference shall be given to students who are orphans, who were raised by a single parent or who are from a town in Maine that has suffered a mill closure or other major economic closure (such as Brunswick’s base closure).

 

Carole L. Hyman Scholarship Fund
Out-of-State Undergraduate students enrolled full-time (12 credits) and demonstrate academic merit.  Students whose socioeconomic background, prior academic or work experience, and/or educational interests would bring a unique perspective to the University of Maine community.  Students who demonstrated commitment to making a meaningful contribution to a pluralistic community and the continuation of a diverse student body; sensitivity to and understanding of racial and ethnic issues in society; commitment to learning to better communicate across the social lines of gender, race generation, geography and class, ability to overcome education, social or family disadvantages; academic merit and leadership potential.

 

The Dickison Robertson Scholarship Fund
Awarded to an undergraduate student who has successfully completed their first year and is motivated to succeed. Must submit a letter of recommendation from one faculty member supporting their selection

 

The Francie Criner and Family Fund
Awarded students with financial need who have been adopted or in foster care at any time.

 

The Hazel Sweetser Bowen Memorial Scholarship Fund *
Awarded to a student who is a full-time junior or senior majoring in elementary or secondary education, is a Maine resident and plans to teach in Maine

 

The Dorothy Menzies Bostwick Pi Beta Phi Memorial Scholarship Fund
Awarded in the following order of preference:

  • Descendants of Dorothy Menzies Bostwick
  • Pi Beta Phi student majoring in a health related field

The H. Wilson Greene Scholarship Fund
Awarded to graduates of a Millinocket High School with first preference to relatives of members of the Millinocket Chapter of Veterans of Foreign Wars

 

The Kathleen R. Hill Scholarship Fund
Awarded to deserving undergraduate or graduate students who have been or are involved in the food service industry in the front of the house capacity (included, but not limited to, hostesses, hosts, maître d’s, servers, bartenders, cashiers, bus-people and others who provide table service)

 

The Nathan Levitan Scholarship Fund *
Awarded to students with financial need with Jewish extraction (being defined as having at least one Jewish parent).  Students must have a 3.0 grade point average; the scholarship will be awarded in consultation with the Hillel Foundation

 

The U.S. Army Air Corp 92nd Bomb Group Scholarship Fund
Awarded to students who attended the Christopher Reeves C of E Lower School in England

 

The W. Gordon Rockwell Scholarship Fund
Awarded to undergraduates where at least one parent one parent shall be or shall have been a teacher in a public educational institution. At a minimum the parent shall have been a teacher for at least five years.

 

Tamela Glenn Scholarship
Awarded to undergraduate students who have overcome obstacles in their lives, who are majoring in art, theater, social work or music and who demonstrate financial need.
