The John I. and Elizabeth E. Patches Chamber Music Series presents the first concert of the season.
High, Light, Deep and Clear.
A group of 5 outstanding brass musicians with Maine connections will present a concert of music spanning 6 centuries. The quintet features UMaine brass faculty Jack Burt (trumpet) and Dan Barrett (trombone). They are joined by the extraordinary multifaceted trumpeter and Maine native, Trent Austin; UMaine alum Justin Drew (horn); and international tuba soloist, Andrew Hitz.
The concert will feature joyous, exhilarating music, written over the space of 6 centuries, from the renaissance and baroque, to 20th and 21st century jazz, folk, contemporary and Latin music. The limits of what brass music can offer will be met, challenged, and redefined.
Tickets are $32 or $7 with student MaineCard. Buy tickets. A $3 facility fee will be added to tickets for this event.
