Maine Rapid Business Climate Survey

Late July Update: Thank you to all the businesses that participated in the Maine Rapid Business Climate Survey. Your rapid responses helped our research team improve documentation and understanding of challenges and opportunities for businesses during the coronavarius pandemic. Stay tuned for our final report (expected in August) and future research plans.

Purpose: The Maine Rapid Business Climate Survey measures the challenges facing Maine’s business community during the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

Survey content: The Maine Rapid Business Climate Survey will take no more than 6 minutes to complete. The survey’s 15 questions collect information on location closings, changes in employment, disruptions in the supply chain, use of federal assistance programs, and expectations concerning future operations.

Use of results: Results from the survey could provide useful information to policymakers and organizations as they seek to address challenges faced by businesses in the state. In addition, the survey results could help businesses plan and make decisions, and assist researchers, organizations, and individuals interested in the impacts of and responses to COVID-19. We plan to publish survey results frequently to allow a rapid dissemination of these results*.

Timing: The survey will be sent out each Tuesday via email to a sample of businesses across Maine starting on June 1st and will continue till the 14th of July.

Participation: We encourage any business interested in taking part to complete the survey. To access the Maine Rapid Business Climate Survey, click here.
