Otterby presents research on minimum wage laws at international region science meeting

School of Economics (SOE) Graduate Student Dawn Otterby recently presented her research on the impacts of minimum wage laws at the 69th Annual North American Meetings of the Regional Science Association International in Montreal, Canada. Her talk, Regional Changes in Minimum Wage and their Effect on the US Labor Market, explored the impacts of regional changes in minimum wages on labor supply, labor demand, and gross domestic product. Her work to date, done in collaboration with Dr. Andrew Crawley and Dr. Todd Gabe, finds positive relationships between minimum wage levels above the federal requirement, labor supply, and gross domestic product.
