SOE is pleased to host the Penobscot Nation Ambassador Maulian Dana
Ambassador Dana’s talk on November 30, 2022 at 12pm in the Bangor Room of the Memorial Union. Ambassador Dana will discuss her background in indigenous activism and how that informs her career in advocacy and policy for her tribe. This event honors Native American Heritage month by providing an opportunity for students and faculty to learn more about the indigenous people upon whose land our University now rests and their ongoing work to achieve equity and justice. While this topic may not seem at first glance economics-focused, understanding the equity and justice issues faced by indigenous people and other underrepresented groups is crucial to understanding economic problems and how to help solve them.
