SOE Professor Jonathan Rubin advances international climate policy research as Fulbright Visiting Research Chair at the University of Ottawa

SOE Professor Jonathan Rubin is spending the Fall Semester in Canada as a Fulbright Visiting Research Chair at University of Ottawa’s Smart Prosperity Institute. Rubin, who also Directs the Margaret Chase Smith Policy Center, was awarded the prestigious Fulbright Canada Research Chair in the Environment and Economy. While in Ottawa, he will be researching US- Canadian greenhouse gas (GHG) mitigation policies in the transportation sector. Rubin’s scholarship and public service in Canada will complement his work on transportation and climate change issues regionally and nationally. He is excited to broaden his research network, strengthen ties between University of Maine and University of Ottawa, work on international policy issues, and explore new opportunities and learning experiences for UMaine students. While we will miss Dr. Rubin this Fall, we wish him all the best on his sabbatical, and congratulate him on being named the 2020-2021 Fulbright Canada Research Chair in the Environment and Economy at the University of Ottawa.
