SOE Alumnus Jurlina accepts data analyst position at California tech company

School of Economics Alumni Antonio Jurlina (Economics MS, 2021) has recently accepted a position at the San Diego based logistics and shipping company Airspace (airspace.com). The application process was lengthy and involved rigorous testing of Jurlina’s data science and analysis skills. Jurlina relied on his proficiencies with R, Python, SQL and Tableau that he gained through his research at the School of Economics with Dr. Waring. In addition to his programming and statistics skills, the position will leverage his economics training. “My economics degree gave me an advantage,” says Jurlina. Jurlina’s hire marks a trend in School of Economics Alumni careers: increasingly computational skills such as programming, data manipulation, cloud analytics and the use of Business Intelligence tools for designing dashboards and reports are differentiators in the job market. Congratulations, Antonio!
