Daley receives UMaine Arctic initiative funding for innovative pilot project on household water insecurity

Assistant Professor Angela Daley is leading an innovative research project focused on household water insecurity in Arctic indigenous communities. Dr. Daley’s research team received funding from UMaine’s Arctic Initiative for their project, A Pilot Study of Household Water Insecurity and Human Health in the Arctic. Arctic indigenous peoples disproportionately experience household water insecurity. She will collaborate with Dr. Kiley Daley (Climate Change Institute and EES), Dr. Kathleen Bell (School of Economics), and Dr. Shaleen Jain (Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering) on the research project. The team will work with local communities and pilot an experiential measure of household water insecurity in Nunavut, Canada to support broader applications in Alaska, Greenland, and beyond.
