Dr. Caroline Noblet receives funding to launch interdisciplinary undergraduate research collaborative

SOE Associate Professor Caroline Noblet recently received funding to launch the Rural Community Resilience Interdisciplinary Undergraduate Research Collaborative. Dr. Noblet designed the collaborative in response to The University of Maine System Research Reinvestment Fund (RRF) Rural Health and Wellbeing Grand Challenge. She is leading a project team of faculty and research partners, which includes multiple SOE faculty (Professors Kathleen Bell and Todd Gabe) and SOE alumni as well as colleagues from other units at UMaine (Laura Rickard, Communication & Journalism) and USM (Tracy Michaud). The objectives of the Rural Community Resilience Interdisciplinary Undergraduate Research Collaborative include generating cutting-edge research, providing undergraduate student research experiences, and strengthening research-based partnerships within and beyond UMS. The 1-year project will support four innovative, interdisciplinary, and partner-engaged research projects focused on developing knowledge and strategies for sustaining outdoor recreation & tourism, agriculture, and seafood industries in Maine. Congratulations to Caroline for this award, and best wishes to all participating faculty, students, and research partners.
