SOE Celebrates Dr. Caroline Noblet’s Promotion to Associate Professor

SOE congratulates Dr. Caroline Noblet on her promotion to Associate Professor with tenure. Dr. Noblet and Director Teisl celebrated Caroline’s numerous accomplishments with President Joan Ferrini-Mundy, Dean Servello, and others this week. Dr. Caroline Noblet uses the lens of behavioral and experimental environmental economics to examine pressing environmental issues. As made clear in her application for promotion and tenure, Dr. Caroline Noblet makes extraordinary contributions to SOE, NSFA, UMaine, and beyond. Through her strong research, excellent teaching, and tremendous public service, Dr. Noblet exemplifies the UMaine Land-, Sea-, and Space-Grant Mission. From 2013 to 2018, she published 22 peer-reviewed journal articles and made over 55 professional conference presentations, sharing her research with professional and stakeholder audiences. Dr. Noblet was responsible for more than $2.3 million in external funding, including involvement with two Track 1 EPSCoR and 1 Track 2 EPSCoR projects, and assumed a leadership role in the soon to be completed SEANET project. During this same time period, she received 3 awards recognizing her tremendous teaching and mentoring, including the 2016 NSFA Outstanding Teaching Award, the 2012 UMaine Graduate School Graduate Faculty Mentor Award, and 2017 Faculty Mentoring Recognition by the All Maine Women Honor Society. Dr. Noblet has chaired 1 Ph.D. committee and 8 Master’s committees and served on 9 Ph.D. and 26 Master’s committees. She has mentored multiple undergraduate Honor’s theses and other undergraduate independent studies, providing students with first-rate research experiences and opportunities to engage with stakeholders.
