SOE Faculty Jonathan Rubin and Kathleen P. Bell Tapped to Support ME Climate Council

SOE Faculty Jonathan Rubin and Kathleen P. Bell (and cooperating faculty member Adam Daigneault of SFR) are excited to support the work of Maine’s Climate Council. Drs. Rubin, Bell, and Daigneault attended the Maine Climate Council kick-off meeting on Thursday, September 26, 2019 in Hallowell. The kick-off meeting launched the Maine Climate Council, giving participants a chance to learn firsthand about how the groups will work together to develop a plan to meet state emission reduction targets. Dr. Rubin will serve on the Council’s Science and Technical Subcommittee and Transportation Working Group; Dr. Bell will serve on the Council’s Coastal and Marine Working Group; and Dr. Daigneault will serve on the Council’s Science and Technical Subcommittee. Drs. Rubin, Bell, and Daigneault joined many other UMaine faculty at the meeting. They were encouraged to see UMaine’s expertise being tapped extensively on this important issue.
