Dr. Keith Evans and SOE Graduate Students George Voigt, Hannah Merriam, and Nick Alvarez present research at the 2019 NAREA Annual Meeting

SOE Assistant Professor Keith Evans, SOE Post-doctoral Researcher Kofi Britwum, and SOE Graduate Students George Voigt, Hannah Merriam, and Nick Alvarez presented their research at the 2019 Annual Meeting of the Northeastern Agricultural and Resource Economics Association (NAREA). Dr. Evans presented his research conducted with Hannah Merriam, Averting behavior in the soft-shell clam fishery. Kofi Britwum shared his work, Are Preferences for Aquacultured Seafood Down to The Attribute?, and received the 2019 NAREA Best Paper Award. George Voigt gave a talk summarizing his research with Drs. Noblet and Teisl, Recreation, raw bars, and risk: how experience and proximity impact water quality choices. Hannah Merriam delivered a poster presentation on her research conducted with Dr. Evans, The cost of protecting shellfish-consumer health: environmental closures in the soft-shell clam fishery. Nick Alvarez shared a poster presentation of his research with fellow SOE graduate student Avery Cole, Is There a Demand for Aquaculture Insurance? An Analysis of New England’s Oyster Growers. Work by SOE graduate student Olga Bredihina and Drs. Evans and Noblet, Citizens’ Preferences for Coastal Usage, was also featured at the poster presentation. The 2019 NAREA Annual Meeting was held in Portsmouth, NH Sunday 09 June to Tuesday 11 June, 2019.
