MOU between UMaine and ZSTU

School of Economics Associate Professor Hsiang-tai Cheng visits the School of Economics and Management, Zhejiang Sci-Tech University, China, to sign cooperation document.

A memorandum of understanding on cooperation between the University of the Maine and the Zhejiang Sci-Tech University was signed by University of Maine Vice President for Enrollment, Jimmy Jung (seated on left), and ZSTU President Songliang Qiu (seated on right) on March 7 at ZSTU in Zhejiang, China.

The cooperation will promote primarily activities in exchange of students between ZSTU’s School of Economics and Management and UMaine’s School of Economics.  A “three plus one” program is being developed in which exchange students from ZSTU will spend their senior year at UMaine with an option to continue to pursue a Master’s degree in Economics at UMaine.

In addition to the student exchanges, the School of Economics is considering the development of an Economics course on China, as well as a possible China travel course.
