Students will enjoy courses taught by the same faculty who teach in the other MSW formats offered by our flagship university.

Using state-of-the-art learning management systems, students will engage in most classes without the need to be online at a particular day or time. These asynchronous classes will be supplemented with some “synchronous” class meetings and in-person meetings. This means that you and your classmates meet together online in class using a webcam and microphone on your computer, as you would in traditional class meetings. A few real-time courses for learning that requires live interaction with other students will also be taught during the field practicum seminar. To enhance student-faculty interaction, classes will meet live at the Hutchinson Center in Belfast for two Saturdays per semester.

The field practicum may be completed at qualifying organizations geographically convenient to students.

Online-Hybrid MSW students are eligible for financial aid programs if they enroll in at least 6 credits.

Applications are now being accepted for the Online-Hybrid MSW program, and students should apply using the University of Maine Graduate School’s online application.
