The University of Maine self-guided walking tours website is designed to be compatible with mobile devices, such as smartphones that can take advantage of the interactive map and direction links.<\/p>\n

The self-guided walking tours are an initiative of the UMaine Division of Marketing and Communications. Two of the principal researchers for the project are Marisue and John Pickering, who have multiple connections to the University of Maine. Marisue is a professor emerita and John an alumnus (\u201989G). Their decades-long experience as educators, and their shared interest in exploring Maine\u2019s historical and cultural heritage, led to their interest in collaborating on the UMaine self-guided walking tours.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
