Read about <a href=\"https:\/\/umaine.edu\/risingtide\/professional-development\/career-recognition-awards\/\">previous\u00a0awardees<\/a>, including last year&#8217;s honoree,\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=HZJ8uTYfnHY\">Dr.\u00a0<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=HZJ8uTYfnHY\">Linda Silka<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>2018 &#8211; 2019 <a href=\"https:\/\/umaine.edu\/risingtide\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/239\/2019\/01\/Career-Recognition-Awards-Guidelines-2018-2019.pdf\">Eligibility Guidelines<\/a>: <\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Women faculty\u00a0in any discipline with\u00a0<strong>5 or more years of service <\/strong>at UMaine<\/li>\n<li>Academic appointment at the rank of <strong>associate <\/strong>or<strong> full professor\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Continued outstanding contribution(s) to the University of Maine\u2019s tripartite mission<\/li>\n<li>Nominated by a faculty colleague<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Nomination Process: <\/strong>Complete the simple online nomination form, to include:<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000\"><em>The nomination period for the 2018-2019 Career Recognition Award has closed.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Your name and contact information<\/li>\n<li>Nominee\u2019s name and department or unit<\/li>\n<li>1 paragraph describing why the nominee is deserving of this award<\/li>\n<li>Submission deadline:\u00a0<strong>NOVEMBER 30, 2018<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>A committee of peers, including some of our previous honorees, will use these criteria to select one deserving faculty to receive this award in 2019.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s really that simple! \u00a0Rising Tide\u00a0staff will contact nominees to request a <strong>curriculum vitae,<\/strong> and to solicit the <strong>names of colleagues who can provide letters of support<\/strong> for the nomination.<\/p>\n\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Acknowledging the significant contributions of accomplished female faculty\u00a0inspires peers seeking role models and mentors, and has been shown to support career advancement for women faculty at every rank.
