Fair Evaluation

Susan Gardner and Melissa Maginnis discuss implicit bias at the 2016 event ADVANCING Women in Academia

Participating on a peer committee can be daunting. Interpretations of departmental criteria often vary, even among peer committee members. Resources that help groups move forward when there is no consensus are not readily available. A guide to best practices in peer evaluation could resolve a lot of questions, and would go a long way toward ensuring that evaluative processes are executed consistently across our campus.

This training module was developed in partnership with Academic Affairs to support faculty tasked with objective evaluation of their colleagues, and to facilitate fair outcomes.
