A look back on the positive impact of the Research Reinvestment Fund (RRF)

As we head into 2019, we look at the impact funding programs have on university research endeavors.

The Research Reinvestment Fund (RRF) has been established by the University of Maine System Board of Trustee’s in an effort to grow research, development, and commercialization activities in Maine.  The RRF program has several competitive grant programs, such as planning grants, seed grants, and student assistantships, which support pilot projects designed to give researchers a competitive advantage in required follow-on grants to federal, state, and foundation sources.  Grantees are required to form partnerships with industry and businesses as well as with colleagues at other campuses within the University of Maine System.

In addition to the grants program, RRF also funds research staff support positions that assist with proposal development, grant submissions, and grant writing & research commercialization training.
