must comply with&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.federalregister.gov\/documents\/2024\/04\/24\/2024-07758\/nondiscrimination-on-the-basis-of-disability-accessibility-of-web-information-and-services-of-state\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Title&nbsp;II&nbsp;digital accessibility standards<\/a>&nbsp;by April 2026. The Office of the Provost has convened a&nbsp;Title&nbsp;II&nbsp;committee&nbsp;to develop and share guidance that will help ensure our digital resources are accessible across campus.&nbsp;You will receive more detailed information in mid-January.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the meantime if you would like to begin ensuring the accessibility of course content and website materials, please find below some resources that will help you.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The accessibility tool Ally has been added to Brightspace. There will be Ally Training for Instructors on January 15th from 12-2\u00a0p.m. Please use this\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/forms\/d\/e\/1FAIpQLSej4gBV5YstWiSXN8jk09IU4A9plC1m_40pxBkMiGPSSp7FwA\/viewform\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">link<\/a>\u00a0to register. An Ally overview can be found\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/document\/d\/1iySaO-tNR4cOdb17GL2Yn6UXP-37Syhrkm5LzmID0PI\/edit?usp=sharing\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">here<\/a>.<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>CITL has also expanded the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/umaine.edu\/citl\/accessibility-in-classrooms\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Accessibility<\/a>\u00a0area of their website to include\u00a0Title\u00a0II\u00a0requirements. They have prepared this\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/document\/d\/1uSlTiniRstZFqPsdjNGpMj3wuBIWzSIZidQlRqNZZfE\/edit?usp=sharing\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">checklist<\/a>\u00a0as well as a link to this\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/document\/d\/1R_c1YXkuWBv3zltjq4zOduyhDau1HQlKgNmGKwHXfD8\/edit?tab=t.0#heading=h.o0y9ux6q073\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Title\u00a0II\u00a0FAQ<\/a>.\u00a0If you have any questions about using Ally, please feel free to reach out to CITL (<a href=\"mailto:citl@maine.edu\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">citl@maine.edu<\/a>\u00a0or 581.3333). More information on this can be found\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/tdx.maine.edu\/TDClient\/2624\/Portal\/KB\/ArticleDet?ID=134075\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">here.<\/a>\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Ensuring compliance with&nbsp;Title&nbsp;II&nbsp;is a significant undertaking, but it is essential to providing equitable access to learning materials both inside and outside the classroom.&nbsp;As we begin this important work, I want to thank you for your commitment and investment of time.
