Resident Student Mail
The United States Postal Service (USPS) delivers student mail from the Hampden postal facility to Mailing Services where it is sorted, then delivered to mail rooms in each campus dormitory. Residence hall employees sort the mail into mailboxes assigned to students.
Package Pickups for Resident Students
All packages mailed to resident students by the USPS or shipped by a private carrier (ex. FedEx, UPS, DHL, etc.) will be picked up at the UMaine Package & Postal Center, the US Postal Substation at the Memorial Union. Students will receive an email on their maine.edu account to pick up their package. The student will need their MaineCard ID or driver’s license to receive their package at the Package & Postal Center.
Mailing addresses are determined by the room and hall to which a student is assigned. A student assigned to live in Room 215 Hart Hall will have the following address:

UMaine Package & Postal Center at Memorial Union: US Postal Substation and More
The Package & Postal Center is the on-campus U.S. postal substation located in the lower level of Memorial Union to meet the personal mailing needs of all students as well as University of Maine employees. This U.S. postal substation offers all USPS services including selling stamps, sending registered, certified, priority, and foreign mail. In addition to U.S. postal services, the Package & Postal Center also offers other professional services such as printing, copying, faxing and CD & DVD duplicating.
Inter-departmental campus mail service may be used by students wishing to send mail to professors, administrators, or other University personnel. Campus mail service may not be used to deliver individual student-to-student mail. Student-to-student mail must be handled via USPS.
Change of Address
Notify Student Records of your permanent home address. This is the address Mailing Services will use to forward all your first class mail until JUNE 15, 2017. AFTER THAT DATE, ALL REGULAR MAIL WILL BE RETURNED TO SENDER.
End of Spring Semester
**If you failed to contact Student Records prior to leaving campus, you are still required to update your address with that office. You MUST then follow up with an e-mail via your First Class account to firstname.lastname@example.org so our office has your new address on file.**
Notify all your regular correspondents of your address change. Besides your friends and family, don’t forget to notify your magazine subscriptions, credit card companies, banks, etc. of your address change. Notify all independent carriers of your address change. Expecting a package? Fed Ex, UPS and DHL will need to know where to deliver your package.
PRESORTED AND NON-PROFIT MAIL WILL NOT BE FORWARDED.
