Dr. Daniel Puhlman\u2014Director<\/u><\/strong>
\nDr. Puhlman joined the University of Maine in August 2018 as an assistant professor of family studies. He graduated from the Florida State University in August 2013 with a Ph.D. in Marriage and Family Therapy. His expertise centers around coparenting and fathering and he has been foundational in understanding a family concept known as Maternal Gatekeeping. In addition, Dr. Puhlman\u2019s training as a MFT is core to his work as a teacher, mentor and researcher.<\/p>\n

Dr. Puhlman lives in Maine with his wife (Jane) and three sons (Max, Nathyn and Jack). He is originally from Pittsburgh, PA and is an avid Pittsburgh sports fan (Go Pens!). When not working in the lab Dr. Puhlman loves playing hockey, hiking, camping, home remodeling, skiing and most anything else outdoors.<\/p>\n

Ming-Tso Chien\u2014Graduate Assistant<\/u><\/strong>
\nMing-Tso is a doctoral student in literacy education in the University of Maine College of Education and Human Development. In terms of research, he has mostly explored topics related to language, culture and identity. Professionally, he has worked as a foreign language teacher and a teacher educator. He is also passionate about anti-bias education that aims at promoting diversity and inclusion in schools and communities.<\/p>\n
