Human Subjects

Approval from the Institutional Review Board for the Protection of Human Subjects (IRB) is required for any systematic investigation of information obtained by observing or interacting with people, or by collecting and examining any form of identifiable private information about people. Animal Subjects

Recombinant DNA or Infectious Agents

Research involving recombinant DNA or infectious agents requires either obtaining approval from or notifying the Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBC). For further information, please visit the Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBC)website.


Radioactive Material and/or Class 3B or 4 Lasers

Environmental or Safety Hazards

Research involving potential hazards to employees or the environment, such as hazardous materials or in instances where safety equipment or medical monitoring is needed, may require prior approval or training from the Safety & Environmental Management Department (SEM).
