{"id":313,"date":"2014-09-25T10:53:21","date_gmt":"2014-09-25T14:53:21","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/umaine.edu\/oronobogwalk\/?p=313"},"modified":"2017-11-13T13:12:27","modified_gmt":"2017-11-13T18:12:27","slug":"boardwalk-update-25-september-2014","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/umaine.edu\/oronobogwalk\/2014\/09\/25\/boardwalk-update-25-september-2014\/","title":{"rendered":"Boardwalk Update &#8211; 25 September 2014"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Boardwalk update:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Our silent auction\/potluck is coming up on\u00a0October 25th from 6-10pm\u00a0at the Keith Anderson Community Center in Orono. \u00a0If anyone has items to donate please contact\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:Jim.Bird@umit.maine.edu\">Jim.Bird@umit.maine.edu<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The next 48 sections are being manufactured by Great Northern Docks right now. \u00a0We hope to receive them by the end of October, first part of November. \u00a0We then hope (if the weather holds) to take out the 48 old sections and install the new ones. \u00a0(We don&#8217;t have a date yet) \u00a0We then will be ordering the next 48 sections for an April delivery and hope to take out the next 48 and install the new sections before opening in May. \u00a0This is much work but I think we can do it. We are working on the funding for the next 48 sections which will get us to the half way point.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>There will be a nature walk on\u00a0October 4\u00a0starting at\u00a09am\u00a0at the cabin area. \u00a0Ron Davis will be leading the walk &#8211; The Formation and Ecology of a Peat Bog. \u00a0For those of you who haven&#8217;t been on a Ron Davis led walk you should really sign up for it. \u00a0Very informative! \u00a0Please just e-mail me (<a href=\"mailto:Jim.Bird@umit.maine.edu\">Jim.Bird@umit.maine.edu<\/a>) if you&#8217;d like to attend.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Boardwalk update: &nbsp;
