Aquaculture North America interviewed Ian Bricknell, professor of aquaculture biology at the University of Maine, about emerging parasites among fish. “Aquatic parasites cost global finfish aquaculture around $9.6 billion a year and sea lice (Lepeophtheirus salmonis and Caligus rogercresseyi) represent around 11.5% of that,” said Bricknell.
