“Research has reinforced that outdoor learning benefits students’ academic performance and their physical and social-emotional wellbeing,” Ryder Scott, executive director of University of Maine Cooperative Extension’s 4-H Centers, told Mainebiz in a story about the Outdoor School for All initiative administered by UMaine Extension. The program aims to provide outdoor leadership and scientific learning to low-income students with no fee to their district.
