UMaine provides resources for Browntail Moth Awareness Month

University of Maine Cooperative Extension is collaborating with the Department of Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry for its recently announced Browntail Moth Awareness Month throughout February 2023. 

Feb. 2 from 3:30–4:30 p.m., there will be a free virtual webinar hosted by the University of Maine One Health Initiative. Topics include the University of Maine’s BTM research. No registration is required; join by using this Zoom link. Passcode: 269053.

UMaine Extension and the Androscoggin Soil and Water Conservation District will host a free hands-on workshop about how to recognize and remove browntail moths on Feb. 18, 10:30 a.m.–noon. This workshop is an outdoor event; weather-appropriate attire is required. Bring pruning equipment and work gloves. Pole saws, handsaws and loppers will be available for participant trials.
