Janelle Goff: MAT student impacts school community with ‘A Closet for Change’

At the University of Maine, student teachers in the College of Education and Human Development are required to do a service project during their field placements. Janelle Goff of Smyrna Mills, Maine, a Master of Arts in Teaching student, created a community closet where students at Hodgdon Middle/High School can go to get donated clothes and personal items.

“It was a perfect fit for me,” says Goff, who plans to graduate this May and become a middle or high school science teacher in Aroostook County.
