Gill discusses prospect of Maine using Atlantic Standard Time with BDN

Jacquelyn Gill spoke to the Bangor Daily News about the prospect of Maine switching from Eastern Standard Time to Atlantic Standard Time. “How far east we are in the time zone doesn’t affect how much sunlight we get; it affects when that daylight falls on the clock,” said Gill, an associate professor of paleoecology and plant ecology at the University of Maine. “We are far enough on the eastern edge of the time zone that it’s noticeable, because of the distance.”
