Contest to be held to select Summer University 2022 poster art

The University of Maine Division of Lifelong Learning will hold a UMaine campuswide contest to determine next year’s Summer University poster.

The contest is open to all current University of Maine students. Contestants should create a piece of original, digital art considering what UMaine Summer means to them and how “Your adventure starts here” in the summer.

The winning entry will be printed and distributed throughout the state to promote UMaine Summer University 2022. The winner will also receive a $500 gift card to the University Bookstore. All participants will be entered into a drawing to win a $250 University Bookstore gift card.

The Summer University poster has historically been used to promote summer learning opportunities and build a sense of pride in our university and all UMaine has to offer on campus and beyond. For over 30 years, the poster art was created by Val Ireland, who retired earlier this year as UMaine manager of creative services.

“We look forward to continuing a well-loved UMaine tradition with a fresh student perspective. We are excited to welcome new ideas that showcase the beauty of our state and the important impact UMaine students, faculty and staff continue to make during the summer term,” says Patricia Libby, Division of Lifelong Learning associate dean.

Interested students should read the contest Terms and Conditions and submit their entry using this form. The deadline is Dec. 17, 2021. More information about UMaine Summer University can be found online.
