Pen Bay Pilot, News Center highlight state effort to advance UMaine offshore wind research

The Penobscot Bay Pilot shared a news release about the latest efforts from Gov. Janet Mills and her administration to help advance patented floating offshore wind technology developed by the University of Maine Advanced Structures and Composites Center. The news release included a statement from President Joan Ferrini-Mundy, noting that “Maine’s offshore wind strategy, building on UMaine floating platform technology, shows the impact of R&D investment and the outstanding work of the many UMaine faculty, staff and students who have been involved.” News Center Maine also reported on the most recent endeavors from the state to bolster floating offshore wind energy development.
