UMaine Machias alumni discuss college, careers and community at Nov. 19 roundtable

University of Maine at Machias alumni will share their experiences in college, the workforce and their Native community, and give advice to current students during a virtual roundtable at 4 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 19, hosted by the Wabanaki Center at the University of Maine. 

“Wabanaki Voices: College, Community and Career Roundtable,” will feature panelists Natalie Dana Lolar, at UMaine Ph.D. student of anthropology and environmental policy; Colby Soctomah-Lewey, a licensed addictions and drug counselor, and Chris Johnson, and ecology manager for Sipayik Environmental. They will discuss how they chose their undergraduate majors, personal influences on their choices, engagement with their Native community, their present occupations and any guidance they have for current students. Attendees are encouraged to ask questions.
