Former Dean Emeritus Wallace Dunham passes away at 91

Wallace Dunham, dean emeritus of the University of Maine College of Applied Sciences and Agriculture — now the College of Natural Sciences, Forestry and Agriculture — passed away Aug. 24. He was 91. 

Dunham joined UMaine in 1966 after serving on the faculty at Ohio State University and the University of New Hampshire. 

In addition to being UMaine dean emeritus, Dunham also was director emeritus of the Maine Agricultural Experiment Station, and professor emeritus of agricultural and resource economics. 

He wrote several publications, served as administrative advisor to various regional and national research projects in agricultural economics and rural development, and earned the Maine Potato Board’s first award for outstanding contributions to the state’s potato industry.
