Bangor Daily advances 3Dirigo Rockland appearance

The Bangor Daily News reported the 3Dirigo, the world’s largest 3D-printed object, will be in Rockland for public viewing Aug.13–15 in conjunction with the Maine Home and Boat Show and the delayed celebration of Maine’ bicentennial. 3Dirigo was engineered and printed at the Advanced Structures and Composites Center at the University of Maine. A boating retrospective, “200 Years of Maine Boats,” will detail the history of boats and boat building in Maine and feature traditional forms such as birch bark canoes and ultra-modern vessels like 3Dirigo. The free boat display will be open to the public outdoors in Buoy Park adjacent to the boat show.
