Media report showings of 3Dirigo in Bucksport, Searsport

The Penobscot Bay Pilot advanced free public showings of the world’s largest 3D-printed object, a patrol boat dubbed 3Dirigo, in Bucksport on July 17 and Searsport on July 18. The boat, which was designed and printed at the University of Maine Advanced Structures and Composites Center (ASCC), is the largest 3D-printed object in the world. WVII talked with Meghan Collins, communications manager at the ASCC, about production of the boat in reporting on the public showings.
