AP talks with Tasnim about warming in Maine’s blueberry barrens

The Associated Press spoke with Rafa Tasnim, a Ph.D. student of ecology and environmental sciences at the University of Maine about how rising temperatures are affecting Maine’s wild blueberry crop. Tasnim led a study of changes in temperature and precipitation in Down East Maine over the past 40 years which revealed a greater increase in average temperatures in the blueberry barrens than in the rest of the state. David Yarborough, UMaine emeritus professor of horticulture, was also interviewed for the story.
