The County notes UMaine assistance in structural round timber study

The County noted that University of Maine researchers are helping Original Mass Timber Maine, an initiative from the town of Ashland, study the environmental benefits of structural round timber, which is expected to be more environmentally sustainable than other wood building products. According to the report, “university will also be conducting a cost analysis of various tree species and researching which ones could be more compatible with certain wood products.”
