College of Education and Human Development again ranks among top graduate schools by U.S. News & World Report

U.S. News & World Report’s annual rankings of top graduate schools once again lists the University of Maine College of Education and Human Development as one of the best education schools in the country.

UMaine, with the only graduate education program in the state to make the list, ranked 136.

The UMaine College of Education and Human Development has more than 20 graduate degree programs, including graduate certificates, master’s degrees, education specialist (Ed.S.) and doctoral degrees. Most programs can be completed entirely online or through hybrid online and in-person courses. Earlier this year, U.S. News & World Report ranked the college 108 on its list of best online master’s in education programs.

The best graduate school rankings are based on several criteria, including scores from other institutions and professionals in the field of education, research activity, faculty resources, and student selectivity. Total graduate enrollment in the College of Education and Human Development was nearly unchanged from the previous year with more than 500 students. Total funded research in the college increased to $4.9 million, up from $4.4 million last year.
