Media cite Daley, Sorg report on Maine drug deaths

In coverage of 2020 drug related deaths in the state, the Associated PressMaine PublicNews Center Maine and the Bangor Daily News cited a report prepared by University of Maine Margaret Chase Smith Policy Center researchers Kiley Daley and Marcella Sorg. SFGate shared the AP story.Daley is a research associate; Sorg is a forensic anthropologist with a research faculty appointment, who also serves Maine’s chief medical examiner. The 2020 “Maine Drug Death Report” notes a significant increase in the number of drug related deaths, which is being attributed, in part, to isolation resulting from the pandemic.  WVII (Channel 7) also interviewed Sorg about the 2020 report.
